All tournaments held at 7.15pm at Newcastle Chess Club, Eldon Leisure Centre. See Clubs page for map. There is a £1.70 charge for admittance to the leisure centre.

Gateshead: new venue, dates, times and captains

Gateshead Chess Club now play in the Borough Arms, Bensham Road, Gateshead on Monday nights. All their home fixtures have been moved to the Monday of the same week for which they were originally scheduled, with a 7pm start.

In addition, it has been decided that Colin Gilroy will be captaining the Knights, and Peter Wells the A team. Contact details will be sent to the captains of teams yet to play Gateshead, which is everyone in Division 2.

Tynemouth team ranking update

Tynemouth had three equally-ranked teams in Division 1 according to the League Handbook, but it has now been decided that the Hobbits will be the highest-ranked team, the Trojans 2nd, and the Castles 3rd. This change was in effect prior to the Hobbits’ first match of the season at Gosforth tonight.

What it says on the tin! At some point I’m supposed to be creating an Excel-based archive of league results, but that hasn’t quite happened yet, and so what you see here is a snapshot of the main league website as it appeared on 20th September 2011, right before I deleted everything to make way for the 2011-12 season.
